Women 2 Piece Winter Turleneck Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

We knit this two piece set from a soft, springy rib yarn dyed in warm nutmeg. The turtleneck top hangs away from the body with dropped raglan sleeves, while the trousers fall straight from a drawstring waistband. Both pieces are built to wear together or separately throughout colder weather.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Turtleneck and raglan sleeve. The collar stands upright without tight compression around the throat. Dropped raglan armholes let the sleeve sit wide through the upper arm, tapering into fine ribbing at the cuff.
  • Wide trouser leg. The matching pants fall loose from an elastic waistband with an adjustable drawcord. A straight, wide cut lets the ribbed fabric move freely around the legs as you walk.
  • Nutmeg ribbed yarn. A medium gauge rib gives the knit natural stretch that recovers as you wear it. The nutmeg shade is warm and earthy, dyed in a single run so the top and bottom match.
  • Washing and care. Wash both pieces in cold water on a gentle cycle, preferably inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay flat on a drying rack to protect the yarn from stretching out under its own wet weight.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
