Women 2 Piece Winter Turleneck Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

We knit this two-piece set in a uniform black ribbed gauge so both halves share the same weight and give. The top has a tall neck and raglan sleeves that drop off the shoulder, while the trousers fall straight from a drawstring waist. It hangs loose from the body without clinging.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed turtleneck top. The sweater is built with a high folded collar and deep raglan armholes. The body sits wide and lands around the hip, giving the top plenty of room through the chest and back.
  • Wide-leg knit trousers. We gave the pants an elastic waist with an adjustable drawstring cord. The legs drop straight down from the waist, falling in an open cut that lets the rib knit drape freely.
  • Matching dye lot. Knitting the top and bottom from the same yarn run keeps the black tone consistent across both pieces. You can wear them together as a monochrome pair or split them up over other basics.
  • Washing and shape care. Hand wash in cold water or use a gentle cycle with a garment bag. Squeeze out excess water without twisting, then dry both pieces flat on a towel so the ribs keep their recovery.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
