What we would tell you in the studio
- Cable and eyelet stitch. Raised cables alternate with small open eyelets across the front panels and sleeves. The open stitches give the knit a lighter hand while preserving the structure of the corded stitchwork.
- Crew neck and buttons. The round neckline sits close to the base of the neck with a ribbed band that matches the front placket. Button it fully closed to wear as a top, or leave it open over a base layer.
- Cut and drape. The shape sits roomy through the chest and torso rather than hugging the body. It drops straight down from the shoulders, giving you space underneath for collared shirts or fine gauge jerseys.
- Washing and flat drying. Hand wash in cold water with gentle wool detergent. Do not tumble dry or bleach. Press water out between dry towels and dry the cardigan flat on a rack so the cable panels keep their shape.

- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
