What we would tell you in the studio
- Jersey knit and waist tie. The fine-gauge stitch carries built-in stretch that recovers as you move. We added a self-fabric tie across the midsection, which knots to adjust the tension around the waist.
- Crew neckline and armholes. The round crew neck is bound with a flat self-trim that lies smooth against the collarbone. Clean armholes finish the sleeveless cut without digging or gaping.
- Short hemline. The hem ends mid-thigh in a straight cut. Because the knit sits close through the hips, the lower edge stays in place rather than riding up during ordinary movement.
- Washing and yarn care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the waist ties from tangling. Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat on a towel to preserve the blue dye.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
