What we would tell you in the studio
- Open front drape. The front falls open in a steady vertical line bordered by a flat knitted band. It stays clear of the chest and waist, showing whatever top or tank sits underneath.
- Fine gauge knit. We used a light, smooth yarn blend with a soft hand and a quiet surface. It packs down flat in a bag and releases creases once you shake it out.
- Patch pocket placement. Two flat patch pockets sit at the front panels where hands rest naturally. They are knit directly into the body to keep the profile low when empty.
- Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using a mesh laundry bag. Lay the cardigan flat on a towel to dry so the long knit body keeps its original shape.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
