What we would tell you in the studio
- Knit and yarn hand. The fine gauge knit has a soft, smooth face with gentle crosswise stretch. It packs down flat into a tote and shakes out with minimal creasing when you unpack it.
- Open front and trim. A wide self-knit band borders the front opening, giving the edges enough weight to hang straight down rather than curl inward. The body stays open over your base layer.
- Sleeves and pockets. The sleeves finish in ribbed cuffs that stay put when pushed up the forearm. Two deep patch pockets are knit directly onto the front panels to hold small essentials.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent or use a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Reshape while damp and dry flat on a towel to preserve the length.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
