What we would tell you in the studio
- V-neck and button front. The neckline opens into a sharp V, bordered by ribbing that travels down the front placket. Faux tortoiseshell buttons fasten the front closure securely.
- Armhole and cut. We cut the armholes close enough to sit flat without gaping. The body falls in a straight line without clinging to the torso or widening out.
- Cropped ribbed hem. The lower edge finishes in a band of ribbing that rests right around the hipbone. It stays straight and pairs well over higher waistlines.
- Yarn and care. The flowergrey knit has a substantial, opaque hand. Wash it cold in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle, then lay the knit flat so the yarn keeps its shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
