Lounge Sets Womens 2 Piece Matching

We knit this two-piece set in deep navy blue with crisp contrast tipping along the edges. The crewneck top drops at the shoulders and falls loose past the hip, while the matching trousers hang straight with an elastic waistband. Both pieces share the same smooth, midweight yarn for an exact match in shade and drape.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and side slits. The top is built with a simple round crew neckline and dropped shoulder seams that let the long sleeves hang loose. Side slits at the hem give the lower edge room to move instead of bunching over the trousers.
  • Wide leg trouser cut. We knit the trousers with a wide, straight leg that falls cleanly from an elasticated waist. The stitch holds its shape through the knee without clinging, keeping the lower half comfortable across hours of sitting.
  • Navy with contrast tipping. Deep navy blue covers both pieces, broken up by light contrast trim along the cuffs, neckline, and hems. Knitting the top and bottom from one dye lot ensures the dark blue tone stays consistent from collar to hem.
  • Washing and flat drying. Hand wash in cold water with mild soap, or run on a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh bag. Press out water with a towel and dry flat on a rack so the trouser legs and sweater sleeves do not stretch out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
