Lounge Sets Womens 2 Piece Matching

We knit this matching two piece set in a smooth, midweight yarn with a rich wine tone. The crewneck pullover is cut wide through the body with dropped shoulders and side slits at the hem. Matching trousers fall straight from a knitted elastic waistband, giving the full set a loose, uniform drape from shoulder to ankle.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top and hem. The top has a clean round crewneck and long sleeves that taper gently toward the wrists. Side slits at the lower hem give the waist room to move naturally over the trouser line.
  • Wide leg trouser cut. Knitted in the same wine gauge as the top, the trousers hang straight from an enclosed elastic waistband. The roomy leg opening drops clean over shoes or bare feet without pulling.
  • Drape and yarn feel. The knit is smooth against bare skin and holds a medium weight that falls away from the body. It stretches across daily movement without losing its rectangular shape.
  • Cold wash care. Wash both pieces together in cold water on a gentle cycle so the wine shade stays even. Lay flat to dry on a towel to protect the shoulder seams and leg length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
