What we would tell you in the studio
- V-neck and open back. The neckline dips into a neat V that fastens with front buttons, while the reverse opens up across the back. Clean knitted bands finish both edges so the lines stay sharp through repeated wear.
- Fine gauge knit. We chose a smooth viscose blend yarn that feels cool and soft against the skin. The knit holds enough body to drape straight down the torso without adding bulk under an outer jacket.
- Sleeveless straight cut. Cut without sleeves, the armholes are banded to lie flat against the body. The side seams run straight from underarm to hem, landing at the hip where it rests easily over trousers or denim.
- Hand wash care. Submerge in cool water with gentle detergent and press the moisture out in a clean towel. Lay the vest flat to dry so the button placket and open back maintain their shape.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
