What we would tell you in the studio
- Button front and neck. The V-neck drops into a neat button placket down the front. The bands are ribbed to keep their shape and lie flat against the chest without pulling.
- Open back construction. Behind the shoulders, the knit opens into a clean back cutout. The armholes and back edges are finished with narrow ribbed binding to hold the lines square.
- Straight hip length hem. We cut the body straight from underarm to waist. The lower edge lands around the hip, finished with a stable welt hem that stays level over trousers or skirts.
- Yarn hand and washing. The yarn feels light and cool to the touch. Hand wash this piece in cool water and lay it flat on a dry towel so the open back keeps its shape.
