Women Dresses Spring Summer

We knit this dress with an open neckline and full sleeves, cut straight through the body so it sits away from the skin without adding bulk. The length falls well past the knee toward the ankle. An internal lining layer keeps the knit opaque while letting the fabric move naturally as you walk.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Open neckline framing. The collar opens wide across the collarbone to balance the full-length sleeves. It stays in place without pulling at the shoulders, leaving space for a simple necklace or sitting clean on its own.
  • Straight hemline drop. The body falls in a continuous column down to the lower calf. Because the lower hem is cut straight rather than tapered, it maintains an even line from hip to hem through a full day of wear.
  • Emerald green yarn. The deep green tone is dyed evenly through the yarn before knitting. It holds its saturation under bright daylight and pairs easily with neutral leather shoes or layered under a heavier spring coat.
  • Lined wash care. Wash on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag, or wash by hand in cool water. Skip the iron and line dry away from direct heat to protect the inner lining and keep the stitches even.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
