What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and long sleeves. The top is built with a simple round rib neck and straight long sleeves. It falls evenly to the hip without clinging, giving you room to move or wear a base layer underneath.
  • Waistband and leg cut. The trousers use an elasticated waist with an adjustable knitted drawstring. The legs drop wide and straight to the shoe line, giving the fabric room to drape and swing.
  • Rayon blend knit. We chose a rayon blend yarn that feels cool and smooth against bare skin. The knit carries a gentle mechanical stretch that recovers its shape across a full day of sitting.
  • Washing and drying. Machine wash in cold water inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the knit surface from friction. Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or lay both pieces flat to dry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
