What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top cut. The top is cut straight through the body, falling loose around the hip without clinging. Plain tubular trims finish the crew neckline and wrists, keeping the lines flat against the skin.
  • Wide leg trouser. We shaped the trousers with a wide, straight leg that drapes from an elastic waistband. An adjustable knit drawstring lets you set the waist placement, while the hem falls clean over shoes.
  • Rayon blend yarn. The light grey yarn contains rayon for a smooth, cool hand that carries a gentle stretch. It gives both pieces a fluid drape that holds its shape through hours of sitting.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle to protect the knit surface. Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or lay the pieces flat across a towel.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
