What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck closure. The plain round neckline sits close to the collarbone. Ribbed trim reinforces the button placket down the front, holding its shape whether you fasten every button or leave the front open.
- Plush brushed yarn. We spun this from a blend that feels soft and plush against the skin without prickle or scratch. The surface has a fine brushed texture that traps warmth without adding heavy bulk.
- Roomy straight cut. The body is cut wide and loose, dropping straight down so the fabric does not cling. It layers cleanly over tees and tanks without pulling tight across the back.
- Cold water care. Wash by hand in cold water or run on a gentle cycle, then press the moisture out with a dry towel. Lay flat on a rack so the knit dries without stretching the seams.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
