What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck placket. The neckline finishes in a plain round rib that sits close to the collarbone. Tonal buttons run down the front placket, allowing you to close the piece entirely or leave it undone over a light tee.
- Roomy body cut. The knit drops straight from the shoulders and hangs away from the waist and hips. This extra width through the middle keeps the layer easy to pull over tops without bunching up around the sides.
- Soft brushed yarn. We spun this piece from a blend of yarns brushed for a plush, smooth hand that does not prickle. Spandex in the yarn gives the knit recovery so the edges keep their shape after hours of wear.
- Care and drying. Hand wash in cold water or use a delicate cold machine cycle. Press excess moisture out in a clean towel rather than wringing the yarn, then lay the piece flat on a drying rack.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
