What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top cut. The top hangs loose through the body with side splits at the lower hem. Long sleeves provide full coverage while the open cut keeps fabric off the skin.
  • Fitted knit shorts. We knit the shorts with generous stretch to sit close through the leg. A flat pocket sits along the side to hold a key or phone without pulling the waist down.
  • Navy dye lot. Top and bottom are knitted in the same navy yarn batch so the shades match. The colour stays dark and uniform across both pieces through standard wash cycles.
  • Wash and care. Wash both pieces together in cool water on a gentle cycle so the colour wears evenly. Lay them flat to dry to keep the ribbing and hem lines straight.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
