Womens Lounge Sets 2 Piece Matching Pajamas Summer Outfit

We knit this two piece set from a soft, elastic jersey with plenty of give. The top has a wide crew neckline and dropped long sleeves, falling loose past the hip with side vents at the hem. Underneath, the matching shorts sit high on the waist with a close fit and an inset pocket.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Roomy crew top. The long sleeve top hangs away from the body with dropped shoulders and side slits at the lower hem. It covers the waistband completely, sitting down past the hips for an unrestrictive fit.
  • Fitted biker short. The shorts are cut close through the thigh and sit high on the waist with a wide elastic band. We set a flat patch pocket into the side seam to hold small items without sagging.
  • Rose Taupe yarn. We dyed this batch in Rose Taupe, a muted pink-brown tone knitted across both pieces from the same dye lot. The fabric holds a light stretch that recovers its shape after sitting.
  • Washing and shape. Wash the set in cold water on a gentle cycle to protect the fine gauge knit. Lay both pieces flat on a towel to dry so the waistband and side seams keep their shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
