What we would tell you in the studio
- Mock neck construction. The ribbed collar stands up along the neck without squeezing. It keeps out cold drafts and holds its upright shape through full days of wear.
- Merino wool blend. We blend merino wool with smooth synthetic fibres for a soft hand that avoids prickle. The fine-gauge knit layers flat beneath heavy coats and tailored jackets.
- Roomy extended cut. The body is cut wide and falls straight down past the knee. Long sleeves finish in tidy ribbed cuffs that keep the extra fabric gathered at the wrist.
- Cold wash care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle inside a mesh bag, or hand wash. Lay the knit flat on a towel to dry so the long hem does not stretch out.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
