What we would tell you in the studio
- Merino blend yarn. The yarn blends fine merino wool with smooth synthetic fibres for light, itch-free warmth. It holds a clean surface texture without bulk, making it easy to slide under heavy wool coats or tailored blazers.
- Stand mock collar. We shaped the neckline into an upright mock collar that rests softly at the base of the throat. It keeps cold drafts off the neck without the tight fold or extra bulk of a full turtleneck.
- Ribbed long sleeves. Full-length sleeves run straight down the arm and finish with dense ribbing at the cuffs. The rib keeps the wrists tidy and lets you push the sleeves up your forearm without them slipping down.
- Washing and shape. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag, or wash by hand in cool water. Lay the sweater flat across a towel to air dry. Heat from a tumble dryer will shrink wool fibres.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
