What we would tell you in the studio
- Merino blend yarn. We spin merino wool with smooth synthetic fibres to produce a lightweight knit with a soft, non-scratch hand. It provides light warmth for cool days without heavy volume.
- Mock neck structure. The collar stands upright on the neck without turning over or pressing tight against the throat. Ribbing keeps the shape clean and holds its line through repeated wear.
- Roomy straight drape. The body is cut with extra room to fall straight down and hang away from the torso. Long sleeves end in ribbed cuffs that stay put when pushed up.
- Cold water washing. Wash by hand in cold water or use a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay the knit flat on a towel to dry so the body retains its shape.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
