What we would tell you in the studio
- Buttoned mock collar. The front placket buttons right up into a tall collar that rests close around the throat. Unbuttoned, the neck drops into wide lapels that frame a base shirt or tank.
- Chunky yarn weight. We selected a heavy gauge knit with built-in stretch that holds its structure. The grey yarn feels soft against the skin and provides reliable insulation over lighter woven tops or knit dresses.
- Loose body profile. The cut hangs away from the waist and hips rather than drawing in. Long sleeves give full coverage down to the wrists, while the relaxed shape leaves ample space for thick underlayers.
- Hand wash maintenance. Wash this knit by hand in cool water using mild soap to keep the yarn from pilling. Press the excess water out flat with a towel and dry on a level surface.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
