What we would tell you in the studio

  • Stand collar placket. Ribbed knitting shapes the stand collar, supported by a front button placket. Fasten the buttons to close the neck against cool drafts or unfasten them to let the collar spread open over a base layer tee.
  • Sleeve and cuff details. The long sleeves taper into extended ribbed cuffs finished with decorative buttons. This ribbing hugs the wrist, keeping the sleeve in place when pushed up or worn flat.
  • Straight knit body. We knit the body with a loose cut that hangs straight away from the torso. The ribbed bottom hem rests naturally over jeans, skirts, or tailored knit trousers without clinging.
  • Gentle wash care. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle cycle in a mesh laundry bag. Squeeze out excess water without twisting the knit, then lay the sweater flat on a dry towel to dry.

  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
