What we would tell you in the studio
- Ribbed vertical knit. The parallel ridges give the yarn natural horizontal give without losing shape. It stays springy across a full day of wear. The beige tone lets the shadow inside each rib show cleanly.
- Deep V neckline. A clean open V drops straight to the top button, leaving room for a collared shirt or high crew base. The placket lies flat against the chest whether worn fully fastened or left unbuttoned.
- Lower vented hem. The ribbing runs straight down to land around the hip and upper leg. Side slits open up the bottom edge so the knit does not bunch up or catch when you sit down.
- Gentle hand care. Wash by hand in cool water with a mild liquid soap. Press out excess moisture in a clean towel rather than wringing the yarn, then lay the knit flat on a rack to dry.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
