What we would tell you in the studio
- Chunky waffle texture. The raised waffle stitch gives this yarn substantial weight and a dry, clean hand. It holds its vertical line down the body while allowing the fabric to bend naturally as you walk.
- Shoulders and sleeves. Dropped armholes leave plenty of room through the upper arm and chest. Long sleeves finish in dense ribbing that grips the wrist so the cuffs stay pushed up when needed.
- Length and hem. The hem drops well below the knee to provide full coverage over trousers and slip skirts. A wide border along the open front and bottom edge keeps the knit from curling outward.
- Cold water care. Hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent to protect the knit structure. Press excess moisture out in a clean towel and lay the cardigan flat to dry in its original shape.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
