What we would tell you in the studio
- Chunky waffle texture. The stitch creates a deep grid with natural pocketing that traps air for warmth. It gives the body a dense, tactile surface while keeping enough flex to move easily as you walk.
- Roomy open cut. We gave this piece a generous width through the body and arms so it fits smoothly over heavy sweaters or collared shirts. It hangs straight down without buttons, falling well below the knee.
- Sleeve and cuff ribbing. The long sleeves finish in firm ribbing that grips the wrist. This keeps the chunky knit from sliding over your hands and lets you push the fabric up your forearms when needed.
- Wash and flat dry. Wash by hand in cold water and press the moisture out with a towel instead of wringing. Lay it flat in its original shape to dry so the long panels do not stretch out.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
