Women 2 Piece Matching Short Set Summer Outfit

We knit this warm-weather set from a cotton-rich yarn that hangs loosely away from the skin. The top has short sleeves and a four-button V-neck you can unfasten as much as you like, while the matching shorts sit on an adjustable drawstring waist. Both pieces share the same brown dye lot.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Four button neckline. The open V-neck placket has four front buttons. Fasten all four to keep the collar tidy, or unbutton two or three to open the neck lower across the collarbone.
  • Roomy top and shorts. The top is cut wide through the body and falls into a short, straight hem. The matching shorts pull on with a knit drawstring and include two deep side pockets that sit flat along the seams.
  • Cotton yarn weight. We selected a light cotton blend yarn for this set. It stays dry against the skin, holds a soft hand after hours of wear, and maintains its brown tone through repeated cycles in the wash.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water, or dry clean if preferred. Reshape both pieces while damp and lay them flat on a towel to dry so the knit retains its original shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
