Womens 2 Piece Lounge Sets Fall Outfits Henley Shirts & Pants

We knit this two piece set in blue yarn with a fluid, gentle drape. The top has an open henley neckline and short sleeves, cut with plenty of room through the body. Paired with cropped wide leg pants, both pieces hang loose without clinging.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Open henley neck. The top opens at the front with small buttons along the placket. Leaving them unfastened creates a soft open neck that sits wide against the collarbone, balancing the roomy cut through the shoulders and chest.
  • Cropped wide leg. The knit pants fall straight from the elastic drawstring waistband down to a cropped hem. Because the legs are cut wide, the fine gauge knit moves freely around the ankles as you walk.
  • Lightweight drape. We chose a light yarn that feels smooth against the skin and holds very little bulk. The knit settles softly rather than standing away, letting the generous cut drape naturally across the body.
  • Care and washing. Hand wash the set in cool water or use a gentle cycle with a laundry bag. Lay both the top and pants flat on a towel to dry so the open knit structure maintains its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
