Womens 2 Piece Lounge Sets Fall Outfits Henley Shirts & Pants

We knit this two-piece set as a matching pair in a smooth purple yarn. The short-sleeve top carries an open V-neckline with a small henley button placket, falling loose through the body. Below, the trousers pull on with an elastic drawstring waist and finish at a cropped wide leg.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Open henley neck. The shallow V-neckline breaks into a neat front placket with working buttons. It sits open at the collarbone and leaves plenty of space around the throat without pulling backward as you move.
  • Short sleeve cut. We kept the sleeves short and wide through the armhole so the top hangs straight down from the shoulder line. The loose cut avoids bunching under lightweight jackets when worn as a base layer.
  • Cropped trouser hem. The matching knit trousers fall into a wide, airy leg that finishes short of the ankle. An elasticated waistband with an adjustable cord keeps the waist secure without adding thick bulk to the top edge.
  • Yarn hand and care. The knit has a light, silky feel against bare skin with a gentle horizontal stretch. Wash both pieces together in cool water on a gentle cycle, then lay them flat to dry so the legs hold their shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
