Womens 2 Piece Lounge Sets Fall Outfits Henley Shirts & Pants

We knit this two piece set in a fine, fluid gauge that drapes loose and stays cool against bare skin. The henley top opens into an unbuttoned V-neck, cut short at the waist to match the high rise of the cropped knit trousers. Both pieces are dyed together in deep coffee brown for an exact match.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Henley collar and open neck. The top uses a shallow front placket with small tonal buttons that open into a relaxed V-neckline. We leave the collar unbanded so the knit lays flat across the collarbone without stiff structure.
  • Cropped wide leg trousers. We shaped the trousers with a wide leg that falls straight from the hip and ends well above the ankle. An elasticated drawstring waistband keeps the top edge secure without digging in during long wear.
  • Fine gauge drape. Knitted from lightweight yarn with a smooth, cool hand, the fabric falls away from the body in gentle folds. The yarn gives naturally with movement and recovers its shape after hours of sitting.
  • Washing and flat drying. Hand wash in cool water with mild wool detergent to protect the knit stitches and avoid stretching the waistband elastic. Press excess water out between flat towels and dry flat away from direct heat.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
