What we would tell you in the studio
- Cable structure. Raised cable columns give the knit a steady, traditional texture with enough body to hold its shape. The cotton and acrylic blend keeps the surface smooth against bare skin without prickling.
- Crew neckline. The neck is bound with a compact rib that rests flat at the collarbone. It holds its opening cleanly over a bare neck or layered over the collar of a woven shirt.
- Straight body cut. The torso drops in a clean, straight line that avoids clinging to the waist. The hem finishes around the hip, balanced by long sleeves that end in ribbed cuffs.
- Wash and care. Hand washing in cold water protects the raised cable ribs from flattening. If you use a machine, select a gentle cycle with mild soap and lay the knit flat to dry.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
