What we would tell you in the studio
- Traditional cable knit. The raised cable stitches run the length of the front and sleeves, giving the knit a medium weight and a steady, structured hand that holds its shape.
- Crew neckline and cuffs. A ribbed round collar sits flat against the base of the neck. Matching ribbing finishes the long sleeves, holding the cuffs at the wrists when pushed up.
- Straight hip-length hem. The body falls straight down to the hip line. The ribbed bottom edge rests flat over denim, wool trousers, or slips over a collared shirt without bunching.
- Care and washing. Hand wash cold or run on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Press excess water out in a towel and dry flat on a rack so the wet cables do not stretch.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
