What we would tell you in the studio

  • Bodice and neckline. An open V-neckline leads into a smocked upper body that holds close with flexible stretch. Small ruffle detailing trims the collar edge without adding bulk.
  • Flutter sleeves. The sleeves are cut with a wide flutter shape, dropping loosely from the shoulder seam to allow open airflow and easy movement through the upper arm.
  • Skirt and pockets. The lined skirt falls straight from the high waist seam down to a short hem. Deep side pockets are set directly into the side seams to keep the profile clean.
  • Care and handling. Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, using a mesh garment bag to protect the smocking. Lay the piece flat on a towel to dry so the fabric retains its shape.
