Womens Lounge Set Two 2 Piece

We knit this two-piece lounge set in deep wine yarn with contrast piping along the seams. The top has a crewneck and short raglan sleeves that sit away from the torso, while the pull-on trousers fall straight through the leg from an elastic waistband. Wear them together as a matched pair or split them across your wardrobe.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and raglan top. The top is knitted with a clean round neck and raglan seams that drop smoothly off the shoulder. It hangs straight down to the hip with contrast edge details that match the trousers.
  • Wide-leg knit trousers. We built the bottoms with an elastic waist that pulls on easily without hardware. The knit falls straight and loose through the leg down to the hem, keeping its shape as you move.
  • Deep wine yarn. Dyed in a rich wine tone, both pieces come from the same dye lot so the top and bottoms match directly. The smooth yarn feels soft against bare skin without prickle or bulk.
  • Washing and flat drying. Wash this set in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild soap, or hand wash it in a basin. Lay both pieces flat on a clean towel to dry so the knit retains its geometry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
