Womens Lounge Two 2 Piece Short Sets Summer Outfits

We knit this two piece set in deep black yarn with a soft, supple hand. The top is cut loose with a high crewneck and long sleeves, hanging away from the torso to keep air moving. Down below, the matching knit shorts finish the pair with an adjustable drawstring waist.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neckline and cut. The top features a plain round crewneck that sits close to the collarbone. Its body is cut wide and loose, falling away from the waist with a short hem that meets the top edge of the shorts.
  • Sleeve and shoulder drop. Long sleeves extend from a relaxed shoulder line down to soft cuffs. The generous armhole leaves plenty of room underneath, so the top never tugs or binds when you reach or sit.
  • Drawstring knit shorts. The matching shorts are knitted from the exact same black yarn lot for a uniform tone. An integrated channel holds a working drawstring cord, letting you adjust the waist hold directly against the skin.
  • Washing and shape care. Machine wash cold with like dark tones to protect the deep black shade. Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or lay both pieces flat on a rack so the knit dries without stretching out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
