What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck closure. Dyed to match buttons run straight up to a plain round collar. Fastened fully, the neck sits flat against the collarbone without pulling at the placket.
- Cropped straight hem. The hem is cut short and finishes straight across the waist. It stays clear of your belt line, giving higher trousers and dresses a clean break.
- Light gauge yarn. We chose a smooth, lightweight blend with natural stretch that packs down small without deep creasing. It adds light cover indoors without adding heavy bulk under coats.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or dry clean to protect the stitch tension. Gently press out excess water without wringing, then dry flat on a towel away from direct heat.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
