What we would tell you in the studio
- Peached yarn texture. The fine knit uses a blend treated for a brushed hand. It gives the pale pink surface a matte finish that stays soft without adding heavy bulk.
- V-neck and button closure. An open V-neckline leads down into a placket secured by engraved gold-tone buttons. The clean band holds its shape whether fastened shut or worn open.
- Straight hem and cut. We kept the cut straight through the waist. The hem lands at the natural hip, sitting cleanly over trousers, tailored skirts, or light cotton dresses.
- Washing and care. Wash on a cold cycle or by hand with mild detergent. Spread the knit flat across a drying rack away from direct sun to preserve the texture.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
