What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top cut. The long-sleeve pullover sits loose through the body with a clean round crew neckline. It drops past the waist to rest around the hip without gripping.
  • Trousers with pockets. We gave the matching knit trousers deep side pockets and an adjustable drawstring at the waistband. The legs fall straight to keep the fabric off the skin.
  • Dye lot matching. Knitting the top and trousers together means the caramel shade matches across both pieces. The yarn feels smooth directly against bare skin when worn as a pair.
  • Flat dry care. Wash this knit in cold water on a gentle cycle to protect the stitches. Lay both pieces flat on a clean towel so the trousers do not stretch out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
