What we would tell you in the studio

  • Buttoned V-neck top. The front buttons from the base of the open V-neck down to a hip-length hem. Long sleeves finish with simple stitched cuffs that push up easily without binding your forearms.
  • Drawstring knit trousers. A wide elastic waistband anchors the trousers comfortably at your midsection, backed by a knitted drawcord you can tie. The legs fall straight down to the ankle and include two deep side pockets.
  • Yarn hand and drape. We knit both pieces using a smooth, blended yarn with built-in stretch and a fluid drop. The surface feels silky on bare skin, giving you gentle warmth through cool seasons without heavy bulk.
  • Care and washing. Machine wash the set in cool water on a gentle cycle, preferably in a mesh laundry bag to protect the front buttons. Reshape both pieces and lay them flat on a towel to dry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
