What we would tell you in the studio

  • V-neck button front. The top opens into a classic v-neckline with functional buttons down the front placket. Long sleeves finish in clean self-cuffs that stay in place without squeezing the wrist.
  • Trouser waist and pockets. We built the trousers with a wide elastic band and an adjustable drawstring to keep the rise secure. Two deep side pockets sit flat along the hip seam for light items.
  • Fluid yellow knit. The yellow knit blends smooth drape with four-way stretch. It rests light against bare skin, holds its straight line through the leg, and resists heavy creasing after hours of lounging.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash this two-piece set on a gentle cycle in cold water to keep the stitches even. Lay the pieces flat to dry so the yarn retains its length and elasticity.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
