What we would tell you in the studio

  • V-neck button top. The top is knit with an open V-neckline and a full front button placket. Long sleeves fall straight to the wrist, and the hem rests naturally around the hip without binding.
  • Drawstring knit trousers. The bottoms feature a wide elastic waistband with an adjustable drawcord for an easy fit at the waist. Deep side pockets sit flat along the hip, and the legs fall straight to the floor.
  • Smooth stretch knit. Knitted from a smooth yarn blend that gives the fabric a fluid drape and gentle horizontal give. It rests light against bare skin while holding its shape through repeated wear.
  • Laundering and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle to preserve the smooth finish of the yarn. Lay both pieces flat to dry so the knit does not stretch out along the seams.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
