Halter Tops for Women Date Night Outfits

We knit this crossover halter piece from a soft, lightweight yarn blend with gentle stretch. The body hangs roomy away from the torso, balanced by full-length sleeves and an extended hem that falls well below the knee. In sky blue, it carries a clean drape that sits lightly against bare skin.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crossover halter line. The front crosses into an open halter neckline that frames the collarbone while anchoring the top cleanly. It sits flat against the chest without pulling or bunching as you move.
  • Roomy longline body. We gave the body extra ease so the fine gauge knit floats away from the waist. The hem extends low toward the ankle, creating a long profile over knit pants or a skirt.
  • Fine gauge yarn. The blend uses viscose, polyester, and nylon to produce a smooth, fluid hand with subtle mechanical stretch. It feels cool to the touch and works well through warm evenings or travel.
  • Cold wash care. Hand washing in cool water protects the open neck shaping and fine knit structure. If you use a machine, select a gentle cycle with mild detergent and lay the piece flat to dry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
