Women 2 Piece Matching Lounge Sweater Sets

We knit this two piece lounge set from a soft, springy ribbed yarn in warm apricot. The top sits loose and roomy with dropped raglan sleeves, while the matching palazzo trousers hang straight from an elastic drawstring waist. Visible outside seams run down the knit to give the pieces clean structure.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed crewneck pullover. The top is cut with a plain round crewneck and a roomy body that hangs straight down to the hip. Long raglan sleeves end in ribbed cuffs that stay in place when pushed up.
  • Palazzo knit trousers. We shaped the pants with wide, relaxed legs that drape freely toward the shoes. An elastic waistband with an adjustable knitted drawstring anchors the waist without pinching.
  • Outside seam construction. Raised external seams frame the shoulders, sleeves, and trousers. This construction detail breaks up the rib surface and gives the soft fabric clear, defined lines.
  • Wash and care. Hand wash both pieces together in cool water to keep the apricot tone consistent. Squeeze out excess moisture in a towel and dry flat away from direct heat to protect the knit ribs.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
