Women 2 Piece Matching Lounge Sweater Sets

We knit this two-piece lounge set from a soft, ribbed yarn in a deep dark green. The crewneck pullover is cut wide through the body with dropped raglan sleeves, while the matching trousers hang straight from an elasticated drawstring waistband. Both pieces share the same dye lot and rib gauge.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Rib knit texture. The vertical ribbing gives the fabric natural crosswise stretch while maintaining its structure. We built exposed outer seam lines along the raglan shoulders and trouser legs to break up the surface.
  • Dropped raglan sleeve. The sleeves angle directly from the ribbed crew collar down to the cuffs. This low underarm cut leaves plenty of room across the chest and back, letting the fabric drape loosely when you move.
  • Wide trouser cut. The knit trousers fall straight from the waist to the shoe line. An adjustable drawstring sits inside the elastic band so the waist stays secure without cutting into your middle.
  • Care and washing. Hand wash the set in cold water or use a gentle cycle with a wash bag. Squeeze out excess water without wringing, then dry both pieces flat on a towel so the ribbed knit keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
