What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed knit texture. The rib structure gives both pieces horizontal give while maintaining their vertical line. We knit top and bottoms from the same deep navy yarn lot to ensure consistent texture, stretch, and tone throughout the entire pair.
  • Dropped raglan sleeve. The sweater uses a long raglan sleeve with low armholes, finished with ribbed cuffs that stay in place at the wrist. Outside seam stitching runs along the shoulder and arm lines to give the knit clean, visible structure.
  • Wide trouser leg. The knit trousers fall straight from a wide elastic waistband with an adjustable drawstring. The leg maintains a relaxed, palazzo-style cut that hangs clear of the skin down to the hem without binding at the knee.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Squeeze out excess moisture without wringing the yarn, then lay both the sweater and trousers flat on a towel to dry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
