Women 2 Piece Matching Lounge Sweater Sets

We knit this two piece set from matching yarn so the crew pullover and wide leg trousers share the exact same weight and dye lot. The cut sits loose and away from the body with dropped raglan sleeves and exposed exterior seams. Nutmeg is a grounded, earthy brown.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed stitch build. The body uses a flexible rib knit with visible exterior seam lines along the limbs. The fabric holds enough substance to hang straight down the leg without clinging.
  • Crew neck and raglan sleeve. We shaped the top with an unadorned crew neckline and wide raglan sleeves that drop low on the shoulder. Ribbed cuffs keep the long sleeves gathered at the wrist.
  • Trouser waist and leg. The trousers pull on with an elastic waist and an adjustable knit drawstring. The legs fall wide from the hip down to an open, unbanded hem that pools slightly over shoes.
  • Washing and drying flat. Hand wash the pieces together in cold water with gentle detergent to maintain the Nutmeg tone evenly. Press out excess moisture in a towel and dry both garments flat.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
