Women 2 Piece Matching Lounge Sweater Sets

We knit this two piece lounge set from a soft, springy rib yarn in a pale light tan. The raglan sweater hangs loose through the body with a simple crewneck, while the matching wide leg pants pull on with a soft drawstring waist. Wear them together as a set or break them apart across the week.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Rib knit texture. The ribbed gauge gives the yarn plenty of mechanical stretch across both pieces. It recovers its shape well after sitting, keeping its vertical line intact throughout a day of wear.
  • Raglan crewneck top. We shaped the pullover with dropped raglan sleeves that leave plenty of room through the armholes and chest. Tight ribbing finishes the round neckline, the cuffs and the lower hem.
  • Drawstring knit trousers. The palazzo style knit pants fall straight from an elasticated waistband with an adjustable drawstring. Outside seam detailing adds a clean architectural line down the length of each leg.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash both pieces in cool water with mild wool detergent to preserve the light tan shade. Press out the excess water gently in a towel and dry the knit flat on a drying rack.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
