Women 2 Piece Matching Lounge Sweater Sets

We knit both halves of this lounge set together so the pink yarn matches across the top and pants. The sweater cut is loose and boxy with dropped sleeves, while the trousers fall straight from a drawstring waist. Soft ribbing trims the edges to keep the shape through daily wear.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck and seams. The top features an open crew neckline and exposed outside seams along the raglan shoulders. It hangs loose through the body and reaches past the hip without pulling across the back.
  • Wide leg trouser. The pants are cut wide through the leg for a loose drape. An elastic waistband with an adjustable knitted drawstring sits flat at the natural waist and holds without pinching.
  • Ribbed cuffs and hem. Tightly spaced ribbing finishes the sweater cuffs, waistband, and lower hems. The rib pulls the wrists in slightly while letting the main body hang freely away from the skin.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cool water or use a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay both pieces flat on a clean towel to dry so the knit does not stretch under its own weight.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
