Women 2 Piece Matching Lounge Sweater Sets

We knit this two piece set in a soft dusty blue ribbed yarn. The crewneck top hangs loose away from the body with dropped raglan sleeves, while the matching trousers fall straight through the leg from an elastic drawstring waist. Both pieces share the same dye lot.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Rib knit structure. The fabric is knitted in a medium rib with visible external seam detail along the sleeves and shoulders. The knit has natural crosswise give and holds its shape through regular wear.
  • Top and sleeve cut. We shaped the pullover with a round crewneck and dropped raglan armholes. Long sleeves finish in dense ribbed cuffs that stay pushed up on the forearm when you want them to.
  • Trouser waist and leg. The matching trousers pull on with an elastic waistband and an adjustable knit drawcord. The legs are cut wide and hang straight down without tapering at the ankles.
  • Wash and care. Hand wash or use a gentle cold cycle with mild detergent. Reshape both pieces while damp and dry them flat on a towel so the weight of wet yarn does not stretch the legs or sleeves.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
