What we would tell you in the studio

  • Striped knit gauge. The pink stripes are knitted directly into the fabric rather than printed on top. The blended yarn gives the surface a soft, dry hand that resists clinging.
  • High neck construction. A sturdy ribbed mock neck holds its upright shape without rolling. It rests against the base of the throat while the shoulders drop slightly into short sleeves.
  • Roomy straight cut. The top falls clear of the waistline down to the hips. Paired with matching knit trousers, the loose silhouette leaves space for base layers underneath.
  • Laundering and care. Wash by hand in cool water or select a delicate cycle with mild detergent. Press excess water into a towel and dry flat to keep the stripe lines straight.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
